Polar Bear Act
Presenting The Polar Bear, and his herder Ursula. The Polar Bear is a fully animated pod puppet in a similar style to ‘The Creatures’. A highly skilled (and often very hot!) performer is inside the polar bear operating all the movements of the Polar Bear including the facial animations – blinking eyes, sniffing nose, opening mouth and also the live sounds from our custom built sound equipment.
In addition there is Polar Bear herder character, Ursula, who is dressed in an Inuit style outfit to compliment the arctic theme, and Ursula acts as an intermediary between the audience and the Polar Bear, distributing interesting facts and related chat about Polar Bears. To help set the scene the performers will specially build an inflatable ice environment in which they perform.
In reality Polar Bears are threatened with extinction due to the effects of global warming. The performers will be donating a percentage of every booking fee to Greenpeace to aid in their campaign to save the Polar Bears, and our clients are offered the chance to match this donation.
Set times are 3 x 20 minutes.
