Book The Imaginarium
Sideshow Booth
“The Imaginarium” is a beautiful, colourful sideshow booth for audiences of 30-40. The sideshow booth is erected and 4 versatile, professional performers are provided, whilst a crowd is barked-up outside. They can perform different shows of 25-30 minutes long – up to about 8 times per day, providing an exciting and intriguing physical and performance attraction with a range of activities inside. The Imaginarium is available to hire for corporate parties, balls, product launch parties, film premieres, anniversaries and weddings. If you are putting on a Victorian themed event, we can’t recommend this show enough.
Typical acts inside The Imaginarium might include:
“The Flea Circus” – 8 highly trained fleas perform incredible feats of strength and agility in front of your very eyes – see Madam Flea-Flea soar over the heads of the audience, marvel at the might of Hercu-fleas and thrill to the daring Fleavil Kinevil as he is fired across the ring from the mouth of a huge canon!
“Isabella Necessity” and her Storybike:
Isabella Necessity has travelled the world on her bicycle. She returns with stories from the places she has been to share the things that she has seen. With captivating storytelling, lively illustrations, and a rather handsome bicycle, Isabella opens the doors and invites her audiences into other worlds. This form of storytelling theatre is inspired by Japanese Kamishibai – ‘Paper Theatre’.
“Professor Reakes”:
Some storytellers are cozy and fire-sidey. The Professor does a bit of that. Some storytellers are jumpy and in-your-facey. The Professor does a bit of that as well. But mainly The Professor is just a bit hazy – which means he likes his audiences to work nearly as hard as he does. You rarely leave one of The Professor’s stories without naming a donkey, doing a silly dance, or portraying anything from a bear to a bowl of milk… instant limericks, nonsense rhymes & lyrical twists are all part of the service!
“Pete’s White’s Suitcase Circus”:
A full English breakfast treat of mobile tricks, stunts and comic inventions. Pete is able to entertain both adults and children in equal measure. Just what will he pluck from the eponymous suitcase? Will you ask “how does he do it?” or “why does he do it?” and does it matter as long as it brings a smile to your face?
NB These acts can be tailored for each client.
Outside The Imaginarium:
The Mighty “Dom-Tink!” machine – Roll-up! Roll-up! Try-your-strength by trying to ring Uncle’s bell and win a coveted ‘King of Ding’ badge.
“Captain Ginger” is Uncle Tacko’s cheeky monkey, who has become a firm favourite with everyone for his saucy banter and endearing personality.
Uncle Tacko’s “Tinglary” – an authentic barrel piano (or ‘Tinglary’) creates a family fairground feel – no event should be without some of these banging tunes. Have a go – no experience required!
Standard Length Of Performance:
Usually non-stop between 11 am & 4 pm, but the time of day can vary according to need.

TESTIMONIALS
Here’s what The Imaginarium – Sideshow Booth’s clients said:
“The Imaginarium lives up to its name! Uncle Tacko presiding over an exciting space where fun happens. I’ve seen music, storytelling, games and a convincing flea circus – all on the same day. It creates a real visual focal point, and is excellent value for money. It provided a highlight at Shipley Street Arts Festival loved by all who experienced its delights. All I can say is “Roll up, roll up,” otherwise you’ll be missing something special.”
