Jazz Band Duo

The Dapper Duo is an exciting jazz duo featuring pianist Michael and double bass player Tom. This popular, charismatic pair make a fresh swinging sound that will entertain guests at any event, they most often play for receptions as background music. They complement their exceptional playing with their singing, one smooth & crooning, the other gruff and sassy.

The Dapper Duo can play as background music for a champagne reception, more soberly for a partnership celebration or more upbeat for a party. Michael & Tom are experienced session musicians and entertainers. They formed Dapper Duo to show off their own particular playing style with wonderful singing and arrangements as smart as their suits. They have been making great swing music together for ten years and their teamwork is the charm of this act. Dapper Duo just love to get a party going!

Dapper Duo have different musical backgrounds; Michael in theatre and cabaret, Tom in blues and boogie-woogie. This mixture makes a fascinating partnership, lyrical and rhythmic. Since both perform as front – men in their own fields, their two dynamic personalities always make for a great performance.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our musicianship, reliability, punctuality and our smart attire.

The duo can be expanded with a drummer and/or a saxophone & clarinet player. If they are booked to provide background music and volume is an issue, our drummer can play with brushes. They can provide their own PA system for small to medium rooms and electric piano where required.

Black Tie dinner suits.
Black lounge suits with red or silver ties and pocket squares.
Speakeasy style ‘waistcoats & trilbys’ look
